What We Do

Create awareness

Lack of cancer awareness or ignorance of the disease kills women everyday not only in the rural areas but also in the urban areas as well. As such we embark on aggressive cancer awareness campaign in other to reach women all over the community. We realize that so many women are not aware of the signs and symptoms not until it’s too late as such we educate them on how to detect those signs and symptoms early.

We create these awareness through:

Organizing public lectures.
Distributing breast and cervical health educational brochures.
Performing Drama in English and local language to reach the grassroots.
Media programs
Media programs in English and local languages.

Most of our women, especially in the rural areas do not go to hospitals due to the complexity of the whole system. They lack awareness on how to navigate the hospitals to get proper care and those who have the knowledge fear the costs of cancer treatment due to lack of resources.

Through our Patient navigation program, we help provide assistance in order to guide patients so as to overcome healthcare barriers of hospitals in the community.

Patient navigation

We also provide the following :

Guidance: to ensure timely diagnosis, screening, treatment, and support.
Follow up with out patients to ensure they keep their appointments.
Through our outreach programs we identify those in need of medical care and help support them financially to be able to visit these hospitals and get the much needed care.

palliative care

We partner with clinics and hospitals to make sure palliative care is being provided for those in need. Palliative care is given to patients in other to improve the quality of life of patients who are at an advanced stage of cancer. This care is given in addition to the treatment that the patients needs.

We partner with health care providers so as to prevent or treat, as early as possible, the symptoms and side effects of cancer and its treatment through palliative care.
We are committed to helping patients achieve the best quality of life possible.

The goal is not to cure. Palliative care is also called comfort care, supportive care, and symptom management.

You can help us raise funds in your community to support in our quest to reduce the mortality rate of women through creating massive awareness.These fundraising provides the much needed support for our women.Most of our women are not insured and also not educated enough to get breast and cervical screenings as they live in the rural areas.

Each penny raised can save a womans life because we would ensure free screening is being provided as early detection is the key to saving lives.

Support group

We have a support group where those newly diagnosed with cancer and survivors meet share and exchange experience.

Through our support group we:

Provide resources to help counsel patients and family with their emotions especially those newly diagnosed with cancer.
Counsel patients and their families on how to cope with depressions,anxiety and fear
Provide a forum where loved ones can come together and discuss their fears and other issues freely.
Encourage survivors to share their stories while seeking solutions.
Encourage women to see beyond the stigma and also the myth associated with cancer.
Provide Nutritional tips
Show survivors how to perform specific breast cancer exercises after surgery.
